The Motorsport News Circuit Rally Championship (MNCRC) is delighted to announce a new partnership with Vital Equipment, which will become the official fuel supplier for the 2016/17 championship.
The initial 12-month deal will see Vital Equipment technicians on hand with safe pumping facilities to supply their high quality super unleaded fuel and FIA 102 type fuel for competitors at each round of the championship. Vital Equipment will also create a safe refuelling zone for competitors and teams, reducing risk in the service areas. Although Vital Equipment will have a substantial presence in the paddock, the MNCRC will continue to have a non-controlled fuel policy in the regulations.
Darren Spann, Championship Coordinator for the MNCRC, said: “We are delighted to confirm this innovative partnership with Vital Equipment. We believe that safety is a critical component of the championship’s future success and, with refuelling being a particularly risky activity, this partnership gives us the ability to reduced significantly this risk on all eight rounds of the championship by the introduction of controlled refuelling areas – Vital Equipment’s sector leading experience and knowledge will be a significant asset to the championship.”
Alistair Roberts, Managing Director of Vital Equipment, said: “We are delighted to have been asked to work with a championship that is growing so rapidly both in prestige and popularity. As with all the series with which we work, our role will be to provide competitors with fuel of a consistent, high quality and, most importantly, to supply that fuel in a safe environment”.
Jack Benyon, National Rallying Editor at Motorsport News, said: “Motorsport News is happy to welcome Vital Equipment to this year’s Circuit Rally Championship. MN has always supported safety in rallying and continues to do so, and the implementation of safer fuel zones – similar to circuit racing – through Vital Equipment, is a step in the right direction for safer refuelling. The addition of Vital proves the popularity of the championship and that the formula created by championship co-ordinator Darren Spann, the Bolton Le Moors Car Club and MSV is a successful one. The speed at which the entries have filled for the 2016 events in the championship is a sign that the series can build on last year’s success.”
