8 Round Revised Championship Calendar Announced

The Motorsport News Circuit Rally Championship (MNCRC) in association with MSVR, featuring the Michelin Cup and the Protyre Challenge are delighted to announce a revised 2020-21 Championship calendar.

After the 2020-21 season was put on hold due to the latest UK-wide lockdown imposed in January, the MSN Circuit Rally Championship, MSVR and Motorsport UK have been working together to put together a plan to allow the season to resume safely, with the full complement of all 8 rounds.

Having already ran Round 1 at Donington in early December 2020, the Championship will look to resume on March 7th at Anglesey with the Lee Holland Stages. There is a gap of two weeks, before the Championship visits Donington Park for the second time on March 21st.

As announced last week, the Championship will then head to Cadwell Park for a weekend feast of rallying action. The re-arranged Alan Healy Memorial Stages ran by Border Motor Club will be held on April 3rd, before Round 5 and the re-arranged Cirrus Research Stages takes place a day later on April 4th 2021.

Due to the cancellation of Brands Hatch, the Championship has invoked its reserve round; the SMC Stages at Anglesey on April 18th. Heading to the Anglesey for the second time this season, the SMC Stages returns to the calendar, having previously ran as the final round in the 2017-18 season.

For the first time, Championship action will likely extend into May and beyond where Organisers are hoping to reschedule the Snetterton and Oulton Park events.  Updates  will be announced in due course.

In addition a reserve date of 25th April for the Lee Holland Stages at Anglesey has also been agreed as a back up should lockdown not be released in time for its scheduled date.

Darren Spann, Championship Co-Ordinator, said “In the past weeks we have been working tirelessly with all our partners, Motorsport UK and MSVR to create a revised 2020-21 calendar, allowing us to restart rallying in the safest way. While we are understandably disappointed that we won’t be visiting Brands Hatch this year, we are pleased to be able to set out our eight-round championship and look forward to visiting Anglesey, Snetterton, Cadwell Park and Oulton Park as well as going back to Donington Park.

I want to thank every partner and competitor for their support and on-going commitment to the MSN Circuit Rally Championship.

The health and safety of all involved will continue to be priority number one, with the Championship running in line with government guidelines and current Motorsport UK advice.
