R5 Test Prize Package For Winner of 2020-21 MNCRC Season

The MSN Circuit Rally Championship (MNCRC) in a/w MSVR Racing, featuring the Michelin Cup and the Protyre Challenge, in conjunction with Mellors Elliot Motorsport, is delighted to announce the continuation of its partnership, ensuring that the winning Championship driver will receive a test drive in their R5 Proton Iriz.

Mellors Elliot Motorsport will once again be offering a fully-funded test drive in their brand-new R5 Proton Iriz, allowing the Championship winner to follow in the footsteps of two-time World Rally Champion Marcus Gronholm.

Darren Spann Championship Co-ordinator commented: “The continued support of Mellors Elliot Motorsport Team is fantastic for our championship.  What a prize it is for our overall champion to have a test in the very latest spec Proton Iriz R5.  I’m really looking forward to seeing last seasons winners Barry & Tom take the car out on their test shortly.”

Showing great commitment to Britain’s premier circuit-based rallying series, the company will be offering the highly sought-after prize, which will consist of up to 30 minutes driving time, plus data analysis with the support of the Mellors Elliot Motorsport team.

Formed in 1982, Mellors Elliot Motorsport has established itself as one of the world’s leading motorsport preparation and build firms.

With more than 30 years’ experience and over 10 rally championship wins, Mellors Elliot Motorsport have designed and developed the Proton Iris R5 – the latest R5 specification rally car and the only R5 car available in both left and right hand drive – to compete in championships worldwide.

Ben Mellors from Mellors Elliot Motorsport commented: “Its great to be supporting the MSNCRC for a second year and providing the overall champion the opportunity to test the latest car to be homologated in the R5 category.  Last season the championship had such close competition throughout all the classes, we are looking forward to seeing more of the same this season.  We would like to wish all the competitor’s good luck and we look forward to welcoming the next wining pair to a test next season”.

Barry Morris, winner of the Championship last year became the first winner of this landmark deal, and the renewal reinforces the Championships commitment to be the base of UK rallying and helping all its competitor progress onto the national and international stage.

Barry Morris Commented: “Taking part in the championship last season and ultimately winning was a dream come true for us, we really can’t wait for our upcoming test in the Proton Iriz R5”.

The MSN Circuit Rally Championship is the UK’s Premier Circuit rallying Championship. With 8 rounds at 6 circuits across the United Kingdom, the Championship starts in November and finishes in March.
